Now that the recording of the 11:00 a.m. service is happening on a regular basis, I am looking for some volunteers to help with the delivery of the service to those who are not able to attend. This is a valuable means of outreach to those who can no longer be with us in person each Sunday. "It brought me such joy" "I listened to it three times" "It made me feel like I had not been forgotten" have been just a few of the comments from those who have been receiving the service recording. The problem, however, is that I don't have enough volunteers to get the MP3 players delivered and picked up when the people are finished. I really need folks to help me the most with these areas - Blockhouse, Cornwall and Northwest. If you can help or know of anyone who can, please contact me after the service or by phone 902-530-5878. Thanks. Margot Lutes
Anyone wishing to have an afternoon out, enjoy a cup of tea etc. please feel free to join the knitters between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesdays. They will make you most welcome!
St. James Parish offers you the convenient opportunity to donate to a number of causes and community efforts. You are likely already aware that you can donate to the Primate's World Relief & Development Fund (PWRDF), the Mahone Bay & Area Food Bank, and now you can also donate to the school-lunch program at Bayview Community School, helping to provide good lunches to kids who need them. Simply make your cheque out to St. James' as you normally would, and make a note on it what it is for, if it is intended for one of these worthwhile effort.
